LensRenew® is derived from a polish process which has been used on aircraft windshields for over thirty years. The process takes about ten minutes per headlight lens.

LensRenew® is a two step process. The first process involves removing the opaqueness, yellowing, gray, or crazing by sanding off the affected lens surface material. The second involves removing the scratches created by the sanding process with an ultra fine abrasive used wet, and then, compounding and polishing the plastic lens back to clear.

The LensRenew® kit contains:
Foam Backing Pad:
One Industrial quality 3" dual density foam backing pad with a serious hook and loop face. The backing pad has a 1/4 inch shaft for use in a 1/4 inch drill. The foam is thick enough to follow the contour of any lens and  dense enough to maintain  even pressure on the lens face while following the contour.

Hand Sanding Pad:
One 4 3/4" x 5 1/2" foam hand sanding pad with foam center, porous face and grit in the 200 range. This pad is used wet and
removes the damaged lens quickly as a first step on moderate to badly damaged lenses.

Sanding Disk:
One 3" fabric faced open cell sanding disc, structured with a fabric face, foam center and hook and loop back. The porous face of the disc forces the wet plastic sanding slur to be absorbed through the face preventing build up. The foam center holds and oozes water for lubrication and keeps the lens surface cool, while preventing build up and scuffing. The disk is used wet and cuts
extremely fast. It is used after the hand sanding pad or as a first step on lightly damaged lenses.

Compound:
One 1oz. container of Compound. This compound is just aggressive enough to remove sanding swirls created by the 3" sanding disc but not so aggressive that it clouds the Lens. (Note: This compound was developed by a South Florida company for use in the local yacht refinishing industry. This unique product is a favorite with tradesmen seeking an "optically correct" finish on yachts.

Plastic Polish:
One 1 oz. container of plastic polish. The challenge for our polish is to bring a swirled surface back to clear without leaving haze or super fine swirls. Our plastic polish is a precisely milled abrasive that works like a compound but acts like a polish and leaves no trace of use! It uses no fillers, no glaze, no wax, and no silicone! The end result ? No surface haze, no swirls, just a beautiful high gloss clear lens!
